Our monthly fitness schedule offers a variety of classes which are complimentary to our members, their extended family and their accompanied guests.

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is a form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair or standing using a chair for support.  Chair yoga is a great practice for everyone, as it deepens flexibility and strengthens personal body awareness.

Circuit

This class is centered around stations of specific exercises to challenge muscle endurance, muscle strength, cardio output, and flexibility.  There are ten to fifteen stations – you stay at each station for a timed interval and then move to the next exercise.

E.M.O.M.

Every Minute on the Move is just that…constant movement.  A high-impact class, this will test your endurance and build strength.

Essential: Posterior Chain

This class is designed to bring us back to our natural postures and movement patterns. In this class you will learn how to effectively use your body and build it up, rather than succumb to the constant break down our modern lives create.

Fitness Walk

This morning walk takes various routes around The Sporting Club property.  The walk is about 50 minutes in length and covers between 2.75 and 3.2 miles, depending upon the route.  It’s a lovely way to greet the day and warm up before a 9am fitness class.

H.I.I.T.

High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT is a type of workout where you give maximum effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise followed by short recovery periods. H.I.I.T. workouts train and condition both your aerobic and anaerobic energy systems. H.I.I.T. workouts get your heart rate up and improve your cardiovascular fitness level while burning more fat and calories in less time.

Interval

Cyclical workout involving intervals of cardiovascular workout and recovery.  This combination increases the burning of total calories which then increases the number of fat calories burned.

No-Impact Weights

This class will give you a no-weight, high repetition, music driven full-body workout.

Nordic Walking

Nordic Walking is a form of physical activity, where regular, natural walking is enhanced by the addition of the active use of a pair of specially-designed Nordic Walking poles. However, the characteristics of natural, biomechanically-correct walking and appropriate posture are maintained in all aspects.  The fitness center has Nordic Walking poles for you to try.

Open Climb

You will build confidence when you experience our 25-foot indoor climbing wall. Assistance will be available at designated times. This is a great activity for inclement weather.

Pilates Mat

Pilates Mat is a series of exercises from within the Pilates Method designed specifically to be performed on a mat.  These exercises help strengthen the body's core by developing pelvic and scapula stability, and abdominal control, using focused breathing patterns.

Postural Body Work

This training system develops postural habits, decompresses the spine and builds incredible strength that transfer to all areas of your life.  We focus on the posterior chain muscles that are the basis of much of our body’s movement patterns.

Resistance Stretching

A different way of approaching stretching, resistance stretching offers immediate, cumulative, and permanent increases in flexibility, takes the pain out of stretching, and protects you from injuring yourself by overstretching.

Strength

Rhythm driven endurance weight lifting for the major muscle groups.

Superset

A superset is performed when two exercises are performed in a row without stopping.  There are a variety of options – you can either superset within the same body part or you can train two different body parts. Supersetting is often the lifting method of choice for those looking to add a cardio respiratory element into their weight training for increased calorie burning and better overall conditioning.

TRX

This class requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer, a highly portable performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to complete exercises.  Suspension Training bodyweight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously.

Water Aerobics

A great water workout for all fitness levels, this class emphasizes cardiovascular, toning, and flexibility with the use of dumbbells, kickboards, and noodles.

Yoga

This class is a gentle practice of poses selected for full body movement with a focus on connecting with your breath and an emphasis on relaxation.

Zumba

Fitness is "Exercise in Disguise" This calorie burning workout uses hot Latin and international rhythms and music to create an exhilarating and effective workout! ZUMBA is perfect for ALL levels of Fitness.
