ALLEN WILLS

Title

Director of Operations

Allen graduated from Concord University with a B.S. in Travel Industry Management, with a concentration on Park & Resort Management. He began his hospitality career with various positions within the WV State Park System & at Winterplace Ski Resort. Allen joined The Greenbrier in 1998, beginning his journey in the Front Office & later progressing to Assistant Manager at Sam Snead’s. He transitioned to The Sporting Club in 2001, helping to develop & provide administration for the rental program for the Copeland Hill homes. His involvement with Club Operations began with the opening of The Lodge in 2004, where he initially had oversight of the Facilities & Rental departments, as well as the day-to-day operation of The GSC Community Association. Today, Allen provides the leadership for all aspects of the management & operation of The Club. He is surrounded by a group of hospitality professionals, each dedicated to providing the membership with an unsurpassed Club experience.

SELINA CAHILL

Director of Human Resources

A West Virginia native, Selina is a graduate of Concord University and has been a Lewisburg resident since 1993. Selina was the former Director of Training at The Greenbrier Resort and CEO of her own training and consulting company, Simmons Street Solutions. Selina’s work experience includes a variety of industries in the area of hospitality, healthcare, financial, educational and pharmaceutical. Selina and her husband, Jan, have two daughters. Sam Cahill Wilson, an East Carolina University alumni resides in Lewisburg, WV, with her husband Ryan and their son, Brice. Haley Cahill Teubert, a graduate of Appalachian State University, works remotely for a company in Indianapolis, IN and resides in Lewisburg, WV with her husband Chris and their daughter Amelia. Selina is active in the Chamber of Commerce, the Concord University Foundation, and (remove is an avid reader in her spare time,) and enjoys traveling.

MARSHA CHRISTIAN SHAVER

Title

Manager of Member Services & Communications

Marsha, a life-time resident of Greenbrier County, joined The Greenbrier Resort in 2001 as a housekeeping supervisor. After six years of gathering extensive knowledge of the hotel and resort, she joined The Sporting Club in July 2007 as part of the Concierge team, and then assumed her current position in September 2010. Marsha leads the Member Services team, as well as coordinates and promotes activities and events. She works as administrator of the members’ website, and oversees the development of the monthly newsletter. You might hear her referred to as the “Paparazzi” as she is often seen capturing moments out on property to share in the member newsletter or on our social media pages. Marsha has two adult children, daughter Baylee and son Hayden. With her husband John she has a step-daughter Maddie who is in Middle School. In her time outside of work she enjoys camping, hiking, chasing waterfalls, and reading books.

CHRISTINA BROWN

Membership Coordinator

Christina Brown, a West Virginia native, grew up just over the hills in Fayette County. She currently resides with her son and fiancée in White Sulphur Springs and looks forward to experiencing the growth of her beautiful small town, as it continues to flourish with new opportunities. Christina joined The Greenbrier Resort 2003 in retail and later moved to the Event Service team as an Administrative Assistant. To further her hospitality experience, she attended Mountain State University receiving her Associates degree in Culinary Arts and interned in the Culinary department at The Greenbrier Sporting Club during the 2013 season. Years later, she returned to The Greenbrier Resort in a new hospitality role as an Event Service & Wedding Coordinator; which was ultimately the path that led her back to The Club as the Membership Coordinator. In her spare time, Christina enjoys going to farmers markets, cooking, kayaking and spending time with family and friends.

RUTHIE ALLEN

Lead Concierge & Children's Program Coordinator

Ruthie is a native of Greenbrier County and the proud mother of three children. She enjoys making people happy, caring for others, and spending time with family, friends and pets. She is also passionate about flower gardening. Ruthie began her career in banking, and later joined her father in running the family moving and storage business. She eventually owned and operated the family business until 2006, when she took time to care for her mother. During that same period, she purchased the apple dumpling concession stand at The State Fair of West Virginia, and thus began her career in hospitality. She joined The Greenbrier Sporting Club in July 2011 as a shuttle driver and, shortly thereafter, became a member of the Concierge team. With her bubbly personality and can-do attitude, she supervises the Concierge Team, Welcome Center Greeters and Young Explorers Guides. Throughout the year she organizes and leads children's activities for the enjoyment of our youngest members.

STEPHANIE HUFFMAN

Controller

A lifelong resident of White Sulphur Springs, Stephanie joined The Sporting Club in 2002, during the development stage, as an Accounts Payable Clerk. Since then, she has taken on many accounting roles, both at The Club and the resort. Stephanie graduated from West Virginia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Business Management and an A.S. in Accounting. Stephanie says she is most happy to have been part of The Sporting Club team from its earliest stages, seeing what used to be an airport strip turned into a beautiful, award-winning golf course. She, her son, Blaine, and their three fur babies - Remi, Jack and Rook - reside just a few miles from The Club. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys spending quality time with her family and pets.

JUSTIN BEARD

Golf Professional

Justin accepted his position at The Sporting Club in January of 2016. He is certainly a tried and true member of The Greenbrier family having worked as Assistant Golf Professional at The Greenbrier following his graduation from Concord University. Later he moved to Head Instructor of the Jim Jamieson Golf School at The Resort at Glade Springs. Within three years, he was promoted to Head Professional and, soon thereafter, to PGA Director of Golf at Glade Springs. Justin has great experience in all aspects of the golf industry and is passionate about the game. Outside of work, Justin’s passions are hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors…and of course, golf! Justin feels extremely lucky to be blessed with his two children Tyler, and Raelyn and they enjoy their time together with sports and fun trips.

ADAM PERRY

Assistant Golf Professional

Adam, a proud West Virginia native, is from Shady Spring, West Virginia, where his hobbies include playing competitive golf and tennis. He attended Marshall University and, while there, was involved with many on-campus organizations and philanthropic events. He graduated in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Upon graduation, Adam went on to serve as the P.J. Boatwright Jr. Intern for the West Virginia Golf Association, traveling and contributing his time to orchestrating amateur championships around the state. Before joining The Greenbrier Sporting Club, Adam was involved with the Golf Department at The Resort at Glade Springs. He started his career as a golf service attendant in early 2009 and, most recently, served as their Assistant Golf Professional. Having received a great deal of professional experience at Glade Springs, Adam is excited to share his positive charisma and golf knowledge with the members of The Sporting Club.

MATTIE JONES

Golf Retail & Operations Supervisor

Mattie joined The Greenbrier Resort in July of 2013 as a retail associate for the formerly known, The Greenbrier Classic, then later in The Greenbrier Shoppe and Newsstand while attending college. With two years of retail service, she was offered and accepted the role as Concierge, where she served for two and a half years. After almost five years of gaining extensive hospitality training and knowledge at the hotel and resort, she joined The Greenbrier Sporting Club in May of 2018 as Concierge and Young Explorers Lead Guide. Mattie completed her bachelor’s degree in 2014 in Music Performance on trombone from Concord University and currently completing her Master’s Degree in Music Education & Music Studies online through Liberty University. You will also find her with the West Virginia Jazz Orchestra playing bass trombone where she has been a member since 2015.

TERESA DOLIN

Manager of Spa & Fitness

Teresa is a lifelong West Virginia native, born and raised in Beckley, WV. She attended Concord University and Mountain State University until following her passion into the health and wellness industry. She has been a licensed Massage Therapist for over 20 years. In 2001 she joined The Greenbrier Spa as a staff therapist, before venturing off into the small business world in 2014 where she owned and operated a health food store here in the Greenbrier Valley. Outside of work she’s an adventure seeker and sunset chaser, and enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with her family. Teresa is passionate about helping others along their personal health journey. She resides in Lewisburg, WV with her husband Mike and sons Luke and Nathan.

TERESA VALLANDINGHAM

Spa Coordinator

Teresa is a native of West Virginia and a resident of Greenbrier County since 1992, when she took a position as Service Coordinator at The Greenbrier Spa. Teresa has received extensive training in hospitality, as well as management and retail. Having received hands-on training in all aspects of daily spa functions, she joined The Sporting Club in 2004 as Spa Coordinator and helped open the Ananda Spa. Teresa says providing five-star hospitality and service to members and their guests is a workplace pleasure. Her interests are in travel, food, and spending time with her large extended family, including three grown children and six grandchildren.

DAWN HOLLIDAY

Title

Equestrian Manager

Dawn grew up riding horses on her family’s farm in Smoot, West Virginia, and is an avid trail rider. She joined The Sporting Club in 2004 as the Equestrian Center Stable Assistant, but quickly became an integral member of the Equestrian Center team and was promoted to Assistant Equestrian Manager in 2009. During her time with The Club, Dawn has bred and raised Labrador Retrievers and Australian Cattle Dogs, bringing them to work and sharing their development with our members and guests. A lover of all animals, she has also been involved in horse rescue, and has fostered a pig, a herd of goats, numerous cows, and a litter of kittens. Dawn lives in Frankford with her partner, Jeremy, and their menagerie of creatures - four horses, six dogs and four cats.

BRIAN MCCLURE

Originally from upstate New York, Brian has worked in hospitality over the past 30 years in resorts and hotels across the US & has long had a passion for the world of service, food, wine & spirits. Before joining The Club, Brian held lead positions at several top resorts, including The Greenbrier, where he was Director of Wine & Beverage for five years, Sand Valley Golf Resort in Wisconsin &, most recently, Spruce Peak in Vermont. He has helped properties elevate their F&B programs & win accolades such as AAA recognition, Forbes rankings, etc. Additionally, over his career, Brian has traveled to wine regions all over the world. Today, Brian holds the WSET Level 4 Diploma & is currently a 2nd Stage student in the Master of Wine program. When Brian is not at work, he enjoys hiking mountains by summer & skiing mountains by winter with his wife, Ann & their dog, Pickles. Both are foodies & bon vivants, in general. They enjoy travelling the country enjoying the world of food & wine.

Lodge Chef de Cuisine

Chef Hannah Reid grew up in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Albemarle County, Virginia. Growing up in a family of great cooks, as well as having the opportunity to travel throughout the United States as a child, gave her a love of fine ingredients and various regional cuisines. As a teenager, she began her career in foodservice at the C&O Restaurant in Charlottesville, Va. It was here she discovered a passion for fine dining and a natural talent for the culinary arts. She came to the Greenbrier Sporting Club in 2007 to assist in the opening of the Summit Restaurant, and her creativity and talent have positively impacted the culinary team and membership ever since. A dedicated mentor, Chef Reid sets the tone for consistency and excellence within her team. Living in Greenbrier County has nurtured Chef Reid’s love of the outdoors and locally harvested ingredients. Outside of work, she is usually spending time in the forests of West Virginia with her two dogs.

KEVIN PAULEY

Lodge Sous Chef

Kevin has been a West Virginia resident for a majority of his life. He was born in Guam and raised primarily in West Virginia and the Philippines, for which he draws a lot of his culinary inspiration. His multicultural background reflects upon his appreciation of local, regional and international cuisine to edge out his unique perspective. Having specialized in Sushi and it's techniques for over 7 years, creating Modern American & regional cuisine for more than 20 years, Kevin brings his culinary talents to The Sporting Club. You can usually find him with a sketchpad, camera or cooking utensil in his hands, as he is an avid lover of the arts, aesthetic and hands-on creative processes. Kevin is a true believer in "Country roads, take me home" and is enjoying his full circle moment of being back in West Virginia, having spent more than the last 19 years away.

DYLAN ROBINSON

Summit Chef de Cuisine

A Greenbrier county native. His passion for cooking began in high school when working at the local FFA chapters ham stand at the West Virginia State Fair. It was at that young age that he knew he wanted to become a professional culinarian. In 2013, Dylan accepted a position at The Sporting Club, where he began to develop his craft. During this time, to further elevate his culinary education, he traveled to the Everglades Club to work a season under the late Master Chef Peter Timmons. After returning to work at The Sporting Club, an opportunity presented itself to run a local catering operation, where he provided culinary delicacies at private events and weddings across the state of West Virginia. Having honed his skill set through these multiple avenues, Dylan returned to The Sporting Club’s Culinary team in 2018 and was promoted to Sous Chef in 2021. Then Promoted to Chef de Cuisine at the Summit in 2022.

ANDREW HALSTEAD

Summit Sous Chef

Andrew is self-proclaimed "small-town West Virginia boy". As a child he grew up down the street from a bakery. Smelling fresh bread baking every morning, he knew he wanted to pursue a career in culinary arts. In high school, he began cooking at a small family restaurant. Discovering that he had a knack for cooking, he decided to seek a position in a larger restaurant setting. In 2013 Andrew accepted a position at The Greenbrier Sporting Club as a general kitchen worker and was later promoted to cooking at The Lodge Pool Cafe and then Garde Manger. He would also assist with grill whenever possible, enhancing his skills and gaining valuable culinary knowledge. His hard work and training paid off as he was promoted to Chef de Partie in 2019, where he was afforded the opportunity to teach young culinarians how to hone their craft. Andrew was promoted to Summit Sous Chef in the spring of 2022 embracing the role of assisting in the management and operations of The Summit Kitchen.

ALYSSA MAYO

Head Pastry Chef

Alyssa, born and raised in Ronceverte, West Virginia, found her love of pastries at a very young age. Whether it was her self-taught-baker grandmother, or her trained-chocolatier and candy-maker Nana, she was always encouraged to learn and experiment in the kitchen. She officially began her pastry career in 2012, when she attended Pierpont Culinary Academy in Fairmont, West Virginia. In 2013, she completed her pastry internship at The Greenbrier Sporting Club and graduated in 2014 with honors. She promptly returned to The Sporting Club, accepting a full-time Pastry Assistant position. Alyssa honed her skills under the direction of The Club’s former Executive Pastry Chef, receiving a promotion to Pastry Chef, then Head Pastry Chef in the late fall of 2017. With a keen attention to detail and a love of all things sweet, she is extremely excited to take on such an amazing leadership role

MICHELLE PAULEY

Special Events Planner, a.k.a “Queen of All Thing"

Born in West Virginia and raised both within the mountains of West Virginia and overseas in Guam and the Philippines, Michelle developed a love for both people and travel, making the hospitality industry a natural fit. Michelle began her career in hospitality at The Greenbrier as a lifeguard and, soon after graduating college with a degree in Management, returned to The Greenbrier as a Front Desk Agent. Michelle’s work experience also includes The InterContinental Manila in Manila, Philippines, and The Hotel Roanoke and Metro! in Roanoke, Virginia. At Metro!, Michelle managed the restaurant, as well as planned and hosted a wide range of events from formal business meetings to corporate dinners, wedding rehearsal dinners and receptions and in-house parties. Michelle joined The Sporting Club in 2011 as a Concierge and in 2014 was promoted to Special Events Planner. When not at The Club, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, which has grown to include her baby daughter, Mia.

MONTE CRAWFORD

Events Manager

Monte, a lifelong resident of Covington, Virginia, joined The Sporting Club team in June of 2013, working her first season as a Server at The Summit. Before coming to The Club, however, she worked for 15 years at Western Sizzlin’ in a myriad of positions before becoming Assistant Manager. She attended Dabney S. Lancaster Community College for a while, taking general studies, but later switched to Liberty University to study business management in healthcare services. Over time, however, she realized that her heart was leading her back to the hospitality industry. When she came to us, then, it was with a passion for customer service and taking care of people and, as a result, in 2017 she was promoted to Lead Server then to Assistant Manager of Dining Services, and most recently to Events Manager. She truly enjoys her role here at The Club and it shows, as you often find her immersed in various tasks at both The Lodge and Summit.

JENNIFER MORGAN

Manager of Dining Services, Lodge

Jennifer was born and raised in Lewisburg, West Virginia. She joined The Sporting Club in the spring of 2008 as a Server Assistant. Over the years, she has held several positions within The Club; server, bartender, assistant supervisor, Summit Dining Manager and currently serves as Dining Services Manager for The Lodge restaurant. Jennifer loves the fast-paced atmosphere of food & beverage and enjoys meeting and welcoming members, their families and guests to The Club dining experience. She and her daughter, Irie, reside in White Sulphur Springs. When not working, Jennifer loves to spend time outdoors with her daughter, Irie, and their beloved dogs and cats.

TAMARA CURRY

Manager of Dining Services, Summit

Tamara was born and raised in Lewisburg, West Virginia. In 2001 she moved to Lynchburg, Virginia to attend Liberty University. After receiving a certification in Early Childhood Development, Tamara returned to Lewisburg and began her teaching career. In 2009 Tamara joined The Sporting Club as a part-time server. During the next two years, Tamara took on several different positions; server, bartender, and beverage cart attendant and found she enjoyed the hospitality industry. In 2012, Tamara was promoted to Assistant Manager of Dining Services for The Summit restaurant before working her way up to her current position of Manager of Dining Services. When Tamara is not at The Club, she loves spending time outdoors with her husband and their three children, Landon, Addyson and Trenton.

JASON BROWN

Director of Development

A West Virginia native, Jason grew up in Peterstown, a small town in Monroe County. He graduated from West Virginia University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer in the states of West Virginia and Virginia. Prior to joining the team at The Greenbrier Sporting Club Jason was Director of Engineering at The Homestead Resort for eight years and prior to that was Director of Engineering and Planning for eight years for Intrawest at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. During his time at Snowshoe he oversaw the construction of four condo hotels, new ski lifts, slope expansion and the construction of the 40 acre Shavers Lake. During that time he was recognized as one of West Virginia’s Top 40 Executives Under 40 by The State Journal. He currently sits on the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) Environmental Board and American Standards B77 Ropeways Committee. Outside of work, Jason is an avid golfer and skier and enjoys really anything outdoors.

LINDA HIGHLANDER

ARB/Contract & Closing/Development Administrator

Linda is a lifelong resident of White Sulphur Springs, WV. She began her professional career in banking, holding many positions; including that of Loan Officer, later as an Office Manager in real estate, and Legal Assistant to an attorney. In all, Linda has over 39 years of experience in the fields of finance and real estate, as well as being a licensed realtor. Having joined The GSC in 2001, she has been a part of the team almost since its inception, and has seen The Club and community develop from vision to completion. Linda works closely with the sales staff and oversees the legal aspects of the purchase and sale process, the submission and construction process for the Architectural Review Board (ARB), and is historian and caretaker of the development records. Linda enjoys working in her yard and traveling to new destinations.

DENNIS TUCKWILLER

Community Association Superintendent

Dennis is a native of Greenbrier County, West Virginia, and joined The Sporting Club in March 2007, as Community Association Superintendent. Dennis works to ensure the Community Association common areas and facilities are maintained according to functional and appearance standards and oversees The Sporting Club grounds, assuring that everything is maintained to the highest standards. Prior to joining The Club, Dennis worked as a project coordinator, and one of those projects was the initial construction of The Sporting Club Lodge. When not on property, he enjoys spending time on the family farm in Asbury.

JOHN KLEMISH

Adviser to the President & Broker-in-Charge

John Klemish was born in Westport, Connecticut and educated in Amherst, Massachusetts. Since 1983, he has been instrumental in the development of world-class, mixed use, residential, and hotel developments throughout the United States and Caribbean. John was part of the team that launched The Greenbrier Sporting Club in 2000 and now acts as Broker in Charge and Adviser to the President, as well as West Virginia Tourism Commissioner. John enjoys golfing and spending time with his two sons and six grandchildren when not selling.

Associate Broker / Sales Executive

Hayes Beard grew up in Atlanta and attended Lovett and the University of Georgia. Having majored in Forestry with an emphasis on Timber Management, his love for the outdoors led him from a career cruising the pine stands of Georgia to the homesites of some of the finest communities in the world. Hayes has over nineteen years of experience working in luxury resort communities, including Temenos Anguilla and Cap Juluca. For over fifteen years now, he has worked exclusively as a Buyer’s Rep for families purchasing homes and homesites at The Greenbrier, America’s Resort. In his spare time, you can usually find him with his two boys, enjoying one of many family friendly activities offered at the resort or The Greenbrier Sporting Club.

Sales Office Coordinator

Ben Gesner was born and raised in Greenbrier County, and attended West Virginia University. He has worked for The Sporting Club for over five years, but came to work for the real estate team in January 2017. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, floating the Greenbrier River, and cooking. As a listing specialist, Ben works closely with sellers, marketing, and our sales team to ensure the available property information is current, complete, and communicated to all parties timely.

Michelle has lived all her life near Talcott, WV in Summers County and is where she currently resides with her husband, John. Now in her third year with The GSC, Michelle’s happy smile, detailed eye, and menagerie of butterfly decorations provides a cheery atmosphere for the sales team, whom she assists with data entry, reception, and daily sales office operations. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys playing piano, reading, and spending time with family and friends

RALPH TAYLOR

Maintenance Manager

Ralph is a native of West Virginia, having been born and raised in Ronceverte. Ralph joined The Sporting Club management team in April 2007. Having owned and operated Taylor’s Appliance Service since 1983, Ralph has serviced everything from household appliances to commercial refrigeration, making him a natural fit for The Club’s Maintenance Department. He is a licensed contractor in the State of West Virginia and a certified pool and spa operator. As Maintenance Manager, Ralph leads The Club’s maintenance team and is charged with ensuring that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards. When not at The Club, Ralph loves spending time with his wife Becky and hunting and fishing in the mountains of West Virginia and Colorado. Together, he and Becky love spoiling their miniature Australian Shepherd, Bailey.

MIKE O’DELL

Maintenance Supervisor

Mike is a native of West Virginia and joined The Sporting Club maintenance team in 2012. His unique background in Aircraft Maintenance with the U.S. Air Force provides the perfect foundation for him as The Club’s Maintenance Supervisor, coordinating a team that provides all aspects of maintenance, including swimming pools and tennis courts. Prior to coming to The Club, Mike worked for a diverse range of organizations, including Greenbrier Outfitters, as well as John’s Island Club in Vero Beach and Gasparilla Inn & Club in Boca Grande, Florida. When not at The Club, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, Shannon, and is passionate about the outdoors, enjoying all the recreational opportunities West Virginia has to offer. Mike also holds the rather unique distinction of being a licensed Master Falconer.

NORA MARTIN

Housekeeping Supervisor

Nora joined The Sporting Club team in November 2015. She was born and raised in Greenbrier County. She worked in the Housekeeping Department at The Greenbrier for seven years, becoming a Cottage Housekeeping Supervisor, before moving over to work in a local medical records data storage company for five years. She came to us following seven years as General Manager of the White Sulphur Springs’ Hardees restaurant. Nora resides on the western side of Greenbrier County and is passionate about gardening and canning the “fruits” of her labor.

PATRICK MURPHY

Golf Course Superintendent

Prior to joining The Sporting Club in 2012, Patrick served as the Assistant Golf Professional at Wild Dunes Resort in Charleston, South Carolina, and Palmetto Dunes Resort on Hilton Head Island. Patrick holds a B.S. in Business Administration and recently completed Ohio State University's Golf Course Management Program. Patrick was born and raised in the Greenbrier Valley, developing a love and appreciation for the area and all it has to offer. His time working in the golf industry, as well as playing the game, has provided him with invaluable experience and knowledge which allows him to provide the quality of service The Club strives to attain.
